This is one of those seasons that brings the worst out of our skin. Which seems to be a suitable time also to find some miraculous products to get rid of dryness, clogged pores, dullness, or basically anything that makes the skin on our faces and body feel pretty “blah”.

I’ve been trying some of these products for quite some times, others only took a couple of uses to go WOW! In any case here are my favorite 5 of the year. Who knows if next year I have new ones to add to the list (I’m pretty sure I will!)
In the meantime, check out these beauties!

Weleda Baby Weather Protection Cream

I came across this wonderful product as part of a nice sampler I got when my son was a baby. It is after all a baby product, but adults can get as many benefits as babies can from it! Weleda Weather Protection Cream was design to shield babies faces and lips from the drying winter weather. Because of its formulation (pure beeswax, lanolin, sweet almond oil, and Biodynamic® calendula flower extract) it is also great for anyone with sensitive skin. Since calendula (commonly known as marigold)has great healing and anti-inflamatory properties, not only is this cream great for any irritated areas, it is amazing for dry chapped lips!

One tip I read in their website? It’s a great product to apply on your eyebrows to make sure they stay in place. One little drop and voila!

Lush King of Skin Body Butter

My face may be combination, but the rest of my body tends to be dry. So dry, sometimes, if I scratch a little bit to hard on my legs, the skin can come off! I know, gross! I have used a lot of very good products, but this one was surprisingly great! It’s a bit of an odd concept to begin with. Rather than your usual body cream or lotion in a plastic bottle, King of Skin is a body butter designed to “melt” on your skin. It’s made with natural products, including organic bananas, shea butter, cocoa butter, and a bunch of oils (jojoba, coconut, tangerine, almond). You apply this bar on wet skin (I do it on dry skin and it’s still works great) and you will automatically feel the difference. The smell is great and the moisturizing power is awesome.

Did you know oats are naturally equipped with an antihistamine effect? And of course, this product has oat milk as an ingredient! And antihistamine in this case means it soothes itchy skin! Perfect!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

This was an interesting find. We usually find this product in pharmacies in Belgium (and pharmacies here in Belgium really only stick to medication and highly reputable skin and body care items for adults and children). I watched a video where this cream was mentioned as a miracle product to clear out blemishes on the face. And this winter my face has been feeling shittier than ever. It’s red and spotty. Well, no more! In one week most of my annoying rosacea pimples and some of the redness cleared out! EFFACLAR DUO is currently marketed as a solution for severe skin imperfections such as redness, clogged pores, blemishes. It uses “4 active ingredients that act on the two main symptoms of skin with imperfections”: Niacinamide and Piroctone Olamine to fight against bacterial proliferation and eliminate imperfections and  LHA and Linoleic Acid  to unclog pores ad eliminate dead skin cells blocking them. And the formula is totally paraben free!

Because of its properties, which also include reducing redness due to the thermal water used as one of the ingredients, this product is great to use as a makeup primer!

Kiehl’s Açaí Damage-Correcting Moisturizer

This moisturizer was one of my first review recipients and boy, do I need to issue a retraction! Well, I didn’t really say this one was a bad product, in fact I actually praised it, but given that at the time it was 56€, I thought, well, this is too much. Also I had a couple of samples of the product which only lasted about 2 weeks. Then this summer I saw both this and the serum for 46€. I bought it and started using because at the time my skin sucked. And once again, after 2 weeks of using, gorgeous skin! I had just ran out of my Chanel Hydramax Active and it was too expensive in Spain. It is amazing though, how much this Damage-Correcting moisturizer lasts. I still have the same bottle from summer. This formula is both silicon and paraben free and it’s made using Ecocert organic certified, 100% natural origin ingredients.

After more than 14 days of use, my skin looks plumper, taut, and greatly improved!

Chanel Hydramax Active Cream

Sure, the last product requires a retraction. This one however; deserves a heartfelt apology for ever writing a review without truly testing something a bit longer. Chanel HYDRAMAX + ACTIVE Cream is part of my standard makeup routine. Prepping my face with this moisturizer before any other cosmetic always creates a perfect smooth canvas for makeup application. What makes this cream so great? A combination of ingredients such as shea butter, rosemary liposomes, and of course, a custom ingredients Ceratonia PFA (Polyfractioned Active, an ultra-pure, ultra-powerful ingredient created through an exclusive purification technique developed by CHANEL)

There is quite a luxurious feeling when using this product, without being too overpowering. If anything your skin will feel fresh and nourished.

So what are your “go to” miracle skincare products?
