Continuing with some Spring/Summer trends, here a very easy look you can wear on one of these warm Summer hights (assuming your nights are getting warmer, of course!) The face and lips are pretty simple; most of the detail is in the eyes, but even so, the look was super easy to accomplish!

Because I’ve been sick, my face has been an absolute disaster. I’ve been dealing with extreme redness and very irritated skin (with a bunch of clogged pores). I had this dinner party and didn’t want to look contagious, so I worked on a look that would still be gentle with my face. The challenge was, my face was very, very dry around my nose, cheek and mouth. However, my T-Zone was a bit oily due to the infernal weather we were having that day….. This is what I did, which I think worked well!

  • I skipped my usual primers because my focus was to hydrate my very dry skin areas and try to minimize the appearance enlarged pores. I used my Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream in the dry areas. I then used Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector
  • I applied MAC Face and Body Foundation (shades N2 and C2 mixed) all over the face using my finger.
  • To mattify the middle of the face (T-Zone), I used Benefit’s Hello Flawless powder* (in Honey)
  • I applied Les Beiges de CHANEL powder (in 040) on high points of my face to add a little bronze effect.
  • To finish I applied MAC Blush in Peaches on the apples of my cheeks.

  • As usual I used MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as base using my fingers.
  • With a MAC 239 brush, I applied MAC Eyeshadow in Patina all over the lid
  • I then took shade Brun and applied it to the outer v and blended towards the crease using MAC 217 brush. I used that same shade with a MAC 219 brush for my lower lash line.
  • For the top lash line, I used a gel liner, the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Black Gold (this liner is gorgeous, but very hard to find in this shade! Use the hyperlink to buy in all available shades!)
  • Finally I applied Hourglass Film Noir Mascara on my top and bottom lashes
  • Filled in my brows with a tiny bit of MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Spiked, followed by MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set in Quiet Brunette

    • Usec MAC Lip Liner in Dervish to fill in my lip with a base color
    • Topped the lip liner with Bourjois Color Boost in Orange Punch
