Dubbed as a “secret passed from nursing mothers to make-up artists”, this product is described as follows:

Dr. Lipp’s original nipple balm for lips is a thick, rich & long lasting moisturizing balm and sexy lip gloss. Make-up artists use Dr. Lipp not only for moisturizing lips but also for creating a gloss on the eyelids, highlighting cheek bones and neatening eyebrows. Flirtatious yet medically proven. Dr.Lipp is loved by London’s make-up artists and oooh soo kissable…

What’s good about it

  • This is a natural product, since it’s 100% medical grade lanolin, so you can be sure you are dealing with a safe balm for your face and body
  • When used on the lips, as the product is branded, you will get all the nourishing care even the driest, most chapped lips can get.
  • Although it is a very sticky consistency, it has a pretty good longevity as a lip gloss (no icky film coats on the lips with old flavoring after some time) and it is nicely absorbed by the skin.
  • It is fabulous on cuticles, especially on any abrasions and loose skin you may have on that area. Theoretically it is good on any other body part suffering from dry or sensitive skin, even on more serious abrasions and even burns

Bare lips

Lips with product on. Barely noticeable

What’s not so good about it

  • Not suitable for vegans (lanolin is a byproduct of sheeps hair)
  • It is more expensive than its competitor Lansinoh (a product that is, however; only targeted to nursing mothers), which is technically the same thing, however; having tried both I can tell Dr. Lipp’s consistency is much softer than Lansinoh

This tiny amount is all you need for all your cuticles. About half of this would be sufficient for the lips

Here’s one gnarly looking middle finger. Cracked cuticle gets stuck everytime I try reaching for somethingmin my purse. Pain ensues

And voilà! After applying the night before the terrible cut is pretty much healed! Don’t mind the missing nail on my ring finger…another accident from my dangerous purse!

Overall it is a very nice product and you do get a lot from it, so the price is worth it. For the lips is great, but I particularly found the use for my horrendous cuticles, well, sort of magical!
